Spring Break Tennis

Coach’s Check List

  1. Make sure all your players bring to each match or practice the following:
    • Rackets, shoes, change of clothes, sun screen, bug spray, ice bags, water or Gatorade in an insulated container, spending money, towel, medical supplies, and sunglasses.
  2. Check in at The Beach & Tennis Pro Shop before you play or practice the first time to register, sign liability waivers, and fill out phone and lodging information sheets.
  3. Do not make your own reservations or go to any sites under the name of Spring Break Tennis unless you are scheduled to play there. This is the one guideline that, if not followed, will cause the cancellation of available sites. Thanks.
  4. Report your scores before 6 pm daily to appear in the next morning's paper and on the Website. All scores reported after 6 pm will appear in the paper and Website on the following day.
  5. Bring all rackets to the pro shop for re-stringing before 6 pm if you need the rackets by 10 am the next day.
  6. Make sure when you check in at The Beach & Tennis Resort Pro Shop you know where you are staying, the phone number, and a cell phone number where you can be reached.
  7. Make sure all coaches contact the opposing coach the day before to check on all details and what your bad weather plans will be.
  8. Keep all the sites clean and neat, especially when you leave the site! Make sure all trash is picked up, all chairs are put back where you found them, and flip all scorecards back to 0-0. Please leave the site in better shape than it was in when you arrived. Thanks.
  9. Use only the courts that you have been assigned to. If a site has five courts and the instructions are to use only four courts, please follow the instructions. Under no circumstances are any players permitted to enter the other court. Thanks.
  10. Shirts stay on! All coaches are responsible for proper tennis attire and proper behavior! Thanks.
  11. If your team is traveling to the sites in a large bus or with a large contingent of spectators, please make Ray aware of this as some sites can't accommodate much parking or large buses. Thanks.
  12. Absolutely no billing is done after you have left the island. Please remember that we accept NO credit cards !
  13. Stay strictly to your schedule and arrive at all match and practice sites at least one half hour in advance of your scheduled time. There is no such thing as playing over unless both of the other coaches have given permission for you to use their match time. If you are playing a match of major importance, please notify Ray in advance so special considerations, if any, can be given.
  14. Matches are to start at the scheduled start time. That is not the time for warm-up. If your start time is Noon, please make every effort to have your players playing points at that time, not at 12:15!
  15. If you are not going to use the practice time that has been booked for your team, please notify us!
  16. The times that your matches are booked for are the maximum amount of time you have to complete your match. The time scheduled is not the time you have to use the courts, it is the time to play your match. If no one is waiting, teams may continue to use the courts, but please do not drill your teams or do fitness exercises after a match.
  17. Walk-on hitting is not permitted at any sites unless you check with SBT in advance. Evening hitting is permitted at the Beach & Tennis until 10 pm. You must notify SBT in advance.
  18. Call or communicate with all coaches directly! Please do not ask Ray or another coach to speak to another coach for you! All coaches speak to other coaches directly!
  19. Speak with Ray ahead of time (not once you are lost) or make sure you know where you are going on the Island at NIGHT, if this is your first visit.
